Questions?

The program, which is managed by the Act One Foundation, is a partnership between the Arizona public libraries and area museums. The Culture Pass gives cardholders free general admission for 2 people at participating organizations when they "check-out" the admission at their participating library.

Customers will inquire at a customer service desk or pick up location (window or curbside) about the availability of passes. You can also check our website for a current listing of venues. Once a venue (whether a museum or special performance) is chosen, the library staff will issue a check out receipt. This receipt serves as the ticket for general admission the museum or performance. If a special performance is chosen, the customer must take an additional step and contact the performance center to secure tickets/seating. This information is available on the voucher.

The cards in the libraries are not redeemable for admission -- they need to remain at the library.

Current Scottsdale Public Library cardholders may check out one pass at a time, with up to two passes per month per household/address. Passes include venues and special performances.

No. The Culture Pass is only valid for 1 household/address during the seven days. Additional admission must be purchased at the venue.

The pass is valid for seven days from the time of check-out. It expires at the end of the day (11:59 p.m.) on the date on the receipt. No additional action needs to be taken by the customer.

Once a pass is checked out, a new pass cannot be checked out until the old one expires. It cannot be returned early.

No. Regardless of when the pass is used within the 7 day check out period, Scottsdale Public Library cardholders can only have one pass out at a time. Once the seven days are up, another pass can be issued to the cardholder.

No, each receipt is only good for 2 admissions at the same time. Venues will collect the receipts at the time of visit. The receipts also expire after seven days whether they have been used or not.

Passes are not renewable.

No. Once a pass has been issued to the cardholder, the pass is valid and the customer must wait seven days until the pass expires before receiving another. We encourage patrons to visit our website for current available passes and performances and to contact venues before visiting.

No. Passes will be available on a first-come first-served basis. To check for availability, please review our catalog.

Yes. The free admission can be redeemed against the highest price ticket. Example: If there are three adults and two children, the free admission will be for two adults.

The pass will cover general admission to the venue, but not to special events/exhibits. Some participating organizations may have a few select dates when the pass cannot be used. Restrictions will be listed on both the program and the venue websites. We strongly encourage patrons to contact the venue before visiting.

Because the Scottsdale Public Library branches share the same collection of materials, including Culture Passes, you will not be able to check out another pass at any other branch until the current pass has expired (after 7 days from check out).

The admissions must be used at the same time (ie. you cannot use “1” admission one day and the “other” at a later date).
