Confidentiality of Library Records MGT-2
The Scottsdale Public Library System is required by law (A.R.S. 41.151.22) to not disclose any record or information that identifies a user of library services. A user is defined as anyone who enters the library or uses services. The Library Director, or designee (person with signature authority in Library Director’s absence), is the legal custodian of records, and therefore, is the person responsible for responding to any request for library records or information about a library user

Display and or Distribution of Non-Library Printed Materials PUB-8
The Scottsdale Public Library System displays and makes available non-Library printed material in the Library in accordance with City of Scottsdale Administrative Regulation 126, Option A. Any materials on display in racks outside the Library are not handled by Library staff and are in accordance with City of Scottsdale Revised Code, section 16-355.

Interlibrary Loan PUB-5
The Scottsdale Public Library System (SPLS) provides interlibrary loan service to improve and expand the resources available to customers. By establishing reciprocal borrowing agreements with other libraries of all types, the Library System supplements its own resources and expands its ability to achieve its mission.

Library Cards CIR-1
Library cards are issued free to Scottsdale residents and residents of Maricopa County. Non-residents of Maricopa County are eligible for a Scottsdale Public Library card upon payment of an annual fee of $43.

Library Cards for Visitors
Visitor library cards are issued free to anyone that does not have a residence within Maricopa County. Borrowing privileges come with restrictions. Non-residents of Maricopa County can also opt for a full Scottsdale Public Library card upon payment of an annual fee of $43.

Computer Use Only Cards CIR-9
Computer Use Only cards are issued free to anyone using a Scottsdale Public Library Facility that cannot obtain full borrowing privileges. They can be used repeatedly for access to library computers and to check out specified items to aid in computer use. They are not able to check out any other library material or items.

Library Fees CIR-4
In accordance with the City of Scottsdale Revised Code, § 20-20, all cardholders are responsible for materials borrowed on their card. The Library Director may impose and collect fees for the infringement of the established rules and regulations and may suspend or revoke the borrowing of any book or other material by a cardholder who has failed or refused to pay any fees or to return any book or other material by the due date set by the Library Director.

Library Refund Policy
Borrowed library items that are paid for and then returned in good condition are eligible for a refund within specified parameters. Interlibrary Loan items are exempt from the policy. Items purchased from the Library Shop are nonrefundable.

Scottsdale Heritage Connection Collection Development Guide COL-3
The Scottsdale Heritage Connection, formerly known as the Southwest Collection and/or Scottsdale Collection is a physical and digital place containing materials related to Scottsdale area history, culture and traditions. The physical space is located at the Scottsdale Civic Center Library and the digital presence is accessed through the Library’s webpage and catalog.

Unattended Children CUS-5
The Scottsdale Public Library System welcomes children to use its facilities and services. The responsibility for the care, safety and behavior of children using the Library rests with the parent/guardian or responsible caregiver. The Library respects the privacy of all library customers and will intervene only when it considers a child to be vulnerable or at risk.
